In this section, you can assign your copyright to one or more photos simultaneously. Click on the Auto Rights Status drop-down list and select Copyrighted (figure 7.120 ) to indicate that your photographs are protected and cannot be used without permission.

7.120 - Copyright protection of your photographs

Unknown does not set copyright for images. It is the default in the Lightroom software. Unless there is any reason to choose another option, I always suggest tagging your own photographs with Copyrighted .

Public Domain , in general, means that they can be used freely by anyone, as long as the author is cited, since it does not incur any copyright on the work. It usually happens after a certain amount of time has passed since the author's death.

Also, in the same Copyright section, there are three more text boxes that allow you to expand the information about them. In the Copyright box, I suggest you enter your full name or your company name. Rights Usage Terms may be summarized with conditions relating to rights, such as the expression All rights reserved . In the Copyright Info URL text box, you can indicate a link to a web page located, for example, on the photographer's website, which contains the terms in more detail. Next to it there is a button with an arrow pointing to the right (figure 7.120 ). Clicking on it opens the URL of the copyright page in the web browser installed on the computer.

In addition to allowing you to view EXIF and IPTC data, other possibilities are available in the Metadata panel, which presents metadata combinations according to user needs (figure 7.121 ). There is, for example, a viewing mode for videos, with fields related to this type of file.
